🔺Palmers Project🔺

A while back, we worked on a Pump Station for North Otago Irrigation Company. This was designed to distribute water to farmers through an underground pressurised pipe network. This project had over 220 km of pipeline and associated valves and structures. It was a big project with a great outcome — very proud of the team that worked on this project.

We have been digging into the archives and came across this image of Mr Palmer (man to the left) in 1910 visiting the Logan Point quarry. The Palmer family purchased this Logan Point quarry in 1880, and in the over 130 years since, this quarry has provided the materials used to build roads, buildings and infrastructure that makes Dunedin what it is today.

Palmers Mechanical is fortunate to have a rich history that is interwoven with the history of Dunedin. If you are interested, you can read more about our history here: https://www.palmersmech.co.nz/about-us/
