When a client needed their tipper truck to double as a fully functional service vehicle, without losing the tipper, we delivered a complete custom retrofit, fabricated entirely in house.

Every component was engineered to be removable, so the truck can convert back to a tipper quickly and without compromise.

What we built:
✅ Removable service body with 2 side doors + top door access
✅ Painted mild steel railing with mid rails - full deck perimeter safety
✅ One-way gate system with magnetic latch
✅ Removable ladder access with rail storage
✅ Removable bump step extending to existing towbar sleeve, stored on rear rails with quick-pin release
✅ All fabricated to customer specification

Last month we shared this custom caravan storage box during fabrication. Here it is fully installed and doing exactly what it was built for.
Designed specifically for the vehicle and the customer’s requirements, this unit features:

Case Study | Bespoke Bike Storage Solution

This customer had an existing bike storage area with a ground-mounted 5-bike rack located at one end of the space. The layout was cramped, difficult to use, and didn’t provide enough bike parking.

Metalcraft Engineering reviewed the space and redesigned the solution to improve both capacity and accessibility. We replaced the 5-bike ground rack with a 4-bike configuration, then added four vertical bike storage positions. This increased overall bike capacity while providing clearer access and easier use for all cyclists.

A simple layout change made a big difference. more bikes accommodated without increasing the footprint.
