The oscilloscope was a very useful tool with this one . The pulses were a important part of the diagnosis . Damage to the tone wheel is obvious on the scope pattern and when the bearing was removed there was impact damage to the tone wheel

Motortech will be rolling their sleeves up (but the door will be down) and reopening Wednesday 1st September. There will be quite a few changes while operating under Alert Level 3. Business hours will be reduced to 8:30am - 4pm weekdays. We cannot offer any waiting jobs or walk-ins so bookings are absolutely essential. We have put in extra measures to keep our customers and staff safe including wearing the appropriate safety gear, practising regular handwashing/sanitising, regular cleaning and strict social distancing. We will sanitise all point of contact in your vehicle before and after job completion. We will be operating 100% contactless, so the customer lounge will be closed. Please read the information we will have available on the table at the entrance when dropping off your vehicle. We can get through this again as long as we all look out for each other. Stay safe and thank you for your support.

2011 Toyota Hiace
This was a real interesting and basic fault . 30 mins to the second the head lights would turn off after being switched on provided the door was not opened ... in short this fault was a blown fuse due to an incorrectly wired reverse camera , it had had extensive repairs before it was booked in for us to have a look including a new dip switch both dip and high beam relays. The fuse was an accessory feed to the body control module (BCM) no feed made the BCM think the car was turned off and timed the head lights to switch off at exactly 30 mins.. It must have been pretty scary for the driver to have the light go out while driving at night . Anyway another job sorted !

1996 Toyota Hilux ... this vehicle was towed in as a no go after being looked at by a diesel mechanic the client expected the worst .
As usual a scan was the starting point, no communication a fuse check was next . A blown EDC- "electronic diesel control" was located, after observing a wiring diagram the short in the loom was found in the wiring loom in the rear if the engine, wiring repaired job done .

The customer lounge will be closed and only used to settle invoices with one person entering at a time, we have put up a sneeze guard as extra protection and have hand sanitiser available for our customers. Please read the information we will have available when dropping off your vehicle in regards to the contact information sheet and your car keys. We can get through this as long as we all look out for each other, stay safe and thank you for your support.

The complaint was simple none of my trailer lights on any of my trailers work . Our new Autologic scan tool made this job super easy the fault was located in the trailer light computer. New computer fitted job done
