Fletchers started a nationwide Fire Protection group in the 1980s. Collecting together existing companies and starting branches of their own, however Fletcher Fire Protection (FFP) was bought by management in 1991 who split the company into regional operators and changed the trading name to suit the initials the company was known by - Fire Fighting Pacific. Our company, FFP Canterbury Limited, is

the largest and most successful of these. A major ownership change occurred in 1998, injecting business capability and new vision into the company and Fire Fighting Pacific has grown since to become the premiere provider of fire systems in Canterbury and the West Coast with over 70 staff. Branches exist in Christchurch and in Timaru, with agents operating in Hanmer Springs and on the West Coast. The diverse skill range and access to the latest technology and the best in local equipment backed up with independent access to international suppliers, provides expertise at the top level in all manner of fire system design, supply and installation. Not having an international parent company means we are not bound with one chain of supply or one brand we have to push. We have the ability to recommend the product or service from anywhere in the world that best suits our customer, not our international coffers. If you want to speak to a call centre in Melbourne about responding a technician to your site, or if you really need your fire contractor to have an accounts department in India, then we are definitely not for you. If you are looking for the "Peanuts / Monkeys" end of the market or for a contractor who only provides short term solutions, then we can recommend some companies who will be right up your alley. This beautiful and historic building was first built as a lavish wedding gift in 1895,

Otahuna’s story has since seen many chapters. For over 60 years it was the private estate of one of New Zealand’s most beloved public figures. It housed a monastery and teaching seminary, and was later home to a storied commune. It has even hosted its share of visiting monarchs.

FFP Canterbury Limited have been proudly looking after this this magnificent building since 2011

Our Timaru branch doing a fantastic job installing a new sprinkler system into the Croft Homestead 🔥🏘


Built in 1910 by Robert and Ellie Orbell, The Croft Homestead has a Heritage 2 category status, having social, cultural and architectural significance.

The Lorna and Hamish Grant Eventide Home, more commonly known as The Croft has been home to more than 3000 elderly and vulnerable people since it was gifted in 1968.
James William Grant, known more commonly as ‘Hamish’ is one of South Canterbury’s most influential philanthropists. His significant generosity has and will continue to positively impact the wellness of people in our South Canterbury community for generations to come.
