MORE THAN JUST A JOB. ❤️
In our line of work, we’re pretty good at fixing things. We find the problem, get stuck in and get the job done.
But sometimes, the things that matter most aren’t things you can fix with a spanner.
Behind every hi-vis shirt, every pair of work boots and every person turning up to get the job done is someone with their own battles, pressures and stuff going on that the rest of us might know nothing about.
This Mental Health Awareness Week, the message is simple: Belonging Matters.
You don’t need to have the right words. You don’t need to solve someone’s problems. Sometimes, it’s as simple as checking in, sharing a coffee, having a yarn or letting someone know they’re not on their own.
To all our brothers and sisters out there — the blokes, the blokettes, the parents, the partners, the mates and everyone in between — if you’re doing it tough, you don’t have to carry it all yourself. It’s okay to speak up. It’s okay to ask for help. And you don’t have to face everything alone.
We’re all human. We’re all carrying something. And we’re all in this together.
Check in on your mates. Make time for a yarn. Ask someone how they’re really doing, and take the time to listen to the answer.
You never know how much that small moment of connection might mean to someone. ❤️
Look after each other. Always.
