We’re pleased to introduce Benn Williams, who has joined Ta**us Engineering as our Manufacturing Manager – Structural.

With a background in Chemical and Materials Engineering, operations management and primary manufacturing, Benn brings experience across iron and steel production and pre-painted long-run steel.

At Ta**us, Benn oversees workshop manufacturing for structural projects, working with clients and the wider group to develop manufacturing capability and support a sustainable order book. He brings a practical and inclusive approach to working with highly skilled people and tackling complex, time-critical problems. (https://ap1.hubs.ly/H01pwG60)

The Christchurch earthquake recovery became an important chapter in the history of Ta**us Engineering. Over the years, our team has contributed to the strengthening and construction of several iconic Christchurch buildings.

One of these projects was the Christchurch Arts Centre restoration, where Ta**us worked alongside Leighs Construction between 2019 and 2022, supplying and installing structural steelwork.

Process pipework is more than connecting one piece of equipment to another. Manifolds, cross-connections, flanged spools and valve assemblies all need to work together as part of the wider process.

The pipework pictured here was fabricated by the Ta**us Engineering team for a water treatment plant project. Our work include DI/SS pipework and structural works.

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming groups of high school students into our workshops. Students were taken on a tour of both the Ta**us and Taylors Manufacturing workshops, where they got an up-close look at our machinery, equipment, and some of the exciting projects currently underway.

It's always rewarding to connect with the next generation and share the many pathways available in New Zealand's manufacturing and engineering sectors.

Thanks to Advancing Manufacturing Aotearoa for organising the event. We hope to see some future engineers, fabricators, and innovators amongst them.
