Roadrunner was established in 1974 by the late Don Ward with a staff of 3 at our current Bulls manufacturing plant. Today Roadrunner , with over 20 staff, offers a wide range of products and services, not only to the Transport, Marine and Agriculture industries but to other industries requiring the services of a recognised leader in the manufacture of aluminium products. The introduction in 2005 of an OMAX Abrasive Waterjet profile cutting machine further improved productivity and quality in our alloy fabrication shop and opened up new and exciting opportunities outside our established fields of expertise. Such was the excellent working relationship built up between Roadrunner and OMAX Corporation that we were appointed the New Zealand agent for OMAX in 2007 carrying out sales, instillation and servicing of waterjet cutting machine centres throughout New Zealand. Roadrunner Manufacturing (NZ) Limited is a wholly New Zealand owned company. Our products are manufactured from quality materials sourced from local and international suppliers. In NZ, we all know you can experience four seasons in one day, and with that comes changing requirements.

We’ve found that Roadrunner-manufactured boxes consistently stand up to the conditions NZ throws at them. Roadrunner’s trademark Continuous Hinge is the envy of many suppliers and has proven to be one of the most reliable options available. That said, it’s still important to consider the application and style. For example, security requirements may call for central locking, and vehicles with existing toolboxes may need to maintain a similar look. In the South Island, ice can also be an issue, so it’s important to ensure latches won’t freeze.

We’re pleased to introduce Brandon to the Roadrunner team as our new Sales Representative.

Brandon started engineering in the heavy transport industry back in 2008, beginning on the workshop floor carrying out digger forestry modifications. From there, he moved into an office-based role producing manufacturing drawings for heavy transport body builds.

Over time, he found he particularly enjoyed working directly with customers, helping turn practical requirements into well-designed, functional outcomes.

Brandon brings hands-on industry experience and a strong understanding of fabrication to every conversation. If you’re working through a new build or need help finding the right solution, he’s ready to assist.
