KING CHASSIS FACTORY KAHNE take home the Gold cup @ Ruapuna Speedway, Christchurch.
New Zealand speedways rising star Alec Insley Motorsport has won the Midget Gold cup for a second time, aboard his King Chassis Factory Kahne TRD YALE NZ Rumble Racing midget car in emphatic style!
Also winning heat 4 on the night before taking out the feature Insley took the frustration of a fourth place finish the night before in the BT Race 4 Mates and turned it into motivation to win the feature by over a second.
Starting the 25 lap Gold Cup race from grid 4 Insley demonstrated patience well beyond his 19 years as the tussle for the number 1 spot heated up on a chilly Canterbury night. Insley broke clear on lap 19, piloting his racecar to the top of turns 1 & 2 to clear the field and never looking back.
2NZ TQ driver Lachy Brett also shone over the 2 nights of racing taking out BT race for mates Friday night & the Canterbury TQ championships Saturday night aboard his Melrose motorsport Factory Kahne suspended racecar, leading the championship from start to finish.
Ruapuna speedway produced 2 fantastic shows on bath Friday & Saturday night with the Gold Cup midget race being hailed as the best of the season by many who were in attendance,
Podium celebrations at this club are a blast, with true old school hospitality being a credit to the entire team.
KING CHASSIS FACTORY KAHNE congratulate the 71a Midget and 2NZ TQ teams on their outstanding performances at Ruapuna speedways final night of the season.
