KZN185 Front Mount intercooler setup we recently finished, what sounded like a simple job turned into one of the most complex jobs we have done in a while - the goal was simple - lower the EGTs, Keep the AC, so we got biggest front mount we could fit, and started from there.
It was a game of millimeters from the very start, one of the busiest engine bays we have seen in a minute, everything was in the way and the only way to do it was to move a bunch of stuff, and keep trying.
● Big front mount fitted
● 2.5" Stainless piping
● Relocated bonnet latch support
● Relocated Horns
● Relocated AC with new lines etc
● Relocated/ Tidied engine bay to make room for piping
The small things that set us apart from the rest:
● Built in sections for easy removal for vehicle maintenance
● All purge welded and appropriate filler wire used when welding
● No Pie Cuts
● Intercooler recessed enough so the grill could be shaved down to look factory not just hacked out around the cooler
● Extra time spent to ensure fitment is as clean as possible with the very tight space we had to work with
Not gonna lie, this one kicked my ass all over the shop but we kept pushing and the end result speaks for itself... you can hardly tell we were in there making custom parts, no hacked up grille, just a clean install that did the job required of lowering EGTs!
