Busy day! Some days in surveying really test you.
Last week was one of those days — juggling between the robotic total station and RTK GPS across an 800m long site, solo. Kerb set out and pins, topo of exposed underground services, checking if the digger buckets are still in calibration, monitoring retaining walls (with weeds covering the marks 😅), and topo of the subgrade layer… all in one day.
Started working at 6:50am and didn’t stop until past 5pm. It always feels like there’s so much to do and never enough time — especially when you’re the only surveyor on site. But this is the job. Precision, pressure, problem-solving, and pushing through.

At Pointworx Survey Limited, we achieved highly accurate 3D laser scanning entirely cloud to cloud—no targets needed! We captured point clouds with a mean error of just 2.6 mm and 2.9 mm across two sets of circular steel structures, ensuring precise alignment and quality control for complex industrial projects.

Sometimes, despite all the hard work and dedication, the journey doesn't end as planned. After pouring our hearts into the Seascape project, it's disheartening to see it come to a sudden halt. The news of the suspension being made public only underscores the challenges we face. However, in every setback lies the seed of a comeback. The UNBOXING - The Venus Laser RTK is a GNSS receiver that enables rodless surveying with a millimeter-precision laser, overcoming traditional limitations. Typically, surveying requires a long pole that can only reach up to 2.5 meters. However, with the Venus Laser RTK, the pole is no longer necessary, allowing you to reach points up to 15 meters away using the laser.
