🚤 Have you caught the latest issue of Boating New Zealand
Featured inside is the impressive new 12.5m Bladerunner foil-assisted catamaran, “Maccus” — and we were privileged to be involved from the very beginning.
For Maccus, we supplied and integrated Volvo Penta at Sea D6-300 engines with DPI sterndrives, along with a comprehensive range of Volvo Penta equipment:
⚙️ Volvo Penta D6-300 engines & DPI sterndrives
• Jackshaft kits
• Auxiliary alternator bracket kit to suit a 350A house alternator
• H Series propellers
• Exhaust riser kits
• 7” Glass Cockpit displays
• Integrated Volvo Penta autopilot
• Joystick docking with joystick driving
• Cockpit joystick docking station
• Easy Connect – Bluetooth app & NMEA 2000 integration
• EVC-2 electronic vessel control, including Single Lever Mode, Cruise Control, Power Trim Assist (PTA) & Low Speed Mode
• Full electronic controls with fly-by-wire steering
The DPI sterndrives bring another level of technology, featuring electric steering, electric shifting and hydraulic clutch packs, along with integrated monitoring for water-in-oil, oil temperature, water in the bellows and oil pressure — helping identify potential issues before they become costly problems.
The DPI drives also feature their own spin-on oil filter for easy servicing.
⛽ Racor 900 fuel filtration completes the package.
And the numbers speak for themselves…
🔥 Cruise: 26 knots @ just 3.2 L/NM
🚀 Top speed: 38 knots
🌊 Ride quality: Exceptional across a wide range of sea conditions.
A seriously impressive vessel showcasing what’s possible when advanced hull design, foil-assisted technology and Volvo Penta propulsion come together.
A huge privilege to be part of the Maccus project from the outset. 👏
