AR & Associates Integrates with Woods and Partners Consultants Ltd

We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone in the evolution of our company. AR & Associates is in the process of integrating with Woods and Partners Consultants Ltd (“Woods”) through an acquisition, where AR & Associates will become part of Woods.

As of August 1, 2024, AR & Associates starts operating as Woods.

Since 1970, Woods has been synonymous with some of the most iconic land development projects nationwide. Their dedication to excellence and innovative land development and infrastructure solutions has positioned them as a leader in our field, and this integration marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for both companies.

Despite being located in an area at risk of flooding, one of our projects in Takanini performed exceptionally well during the recent 27 January storm event.

We are proud to share that this same project was highlighted in national news yesterday, namely in news articles by Stuff and the Sunday Star Times.

The project is a residential subdivision in Takanini which involved a pipeless stormwater design, the first of its kind in Auckland of that scale.

It is clear: when appropriately designed, implemented and maintained, open stormwater systems, which involve the management of stormwater flows on the surface with open channels, swales and fords, are significantly more effective, robust and resilient than underground pipe systems. They are often also cheaper to construct and maintain.

Articles like this will help in our quest to shift the thinking away from conventional “structural” solutions to other more sustainable design approaches. We need to spread the word!

Queenstown needs you! We're looking for a Senior Civil Engineer (or an advanced Intermediate) to join the team. If you've good experience with land development projects and working knowledge of 12D & AutoCAD and enjoy a great team atmosphere in a cool location - this job could be for you!

With a strong background in design, management, tendering and contract administration of land development and civil infrastructure projects, this role would suit someone who can work independently but in close co-operation with our team of engineers and surveyors.

The role requires sound interpersonal skills, which will be a critical factor in mentoring our younger engineers to achieve effective project delivery.

Here we go! The recent karakia whakawātea (blessing) of Waiwharariki Anzac Square by local iwi marked the commencement of the Anzac Square ‘public realm’ project. We are proud to be providing civil engineering services for this exciting project that will revitalise Takapuna and provide significant amenity to the public.

The project will see construction commence at 38 Hurstmere and part of 40 Anzac Street to create a seamless connection from Shore City to Takapuna Beach, as well as providing a welcoming place for the community to relax, enjoy and spend time in a sustainable environment.

We look forward to working closely with Isthmus Group, Eke Panuku Development Auckland , JFC and Bluewater Project Management to bring the revitalised space to the North Shore community.

On Thursday 20 January, we invited mana whenua to lead a ceremony with partners to commence construction of Waiwharariki Anzac Square, the new town square for Takapuna to enjoy.
