Bayleys Real Estate Corner has opened in Takapuna, and we're pleased to have played a part in it.

Anchoring the lobby, at the foot of the staircase, is a double-sided fireplace clad 360 degrees in Muros Aged Roughcast Concrete. The aged colourway, a warmer and softer tone than the cool grey most people reach for, suits a space built to bring people together: commercial and residential listings under one roof, a café, and room for the community.

Specified by Platform Consulting Group and fitted out by MMI Group, who expertly cut the panels to wrap the returns and inset so the whole form reads as one continuous piece. It looks like solid poured concrete. It weighs and costs a fraction of it.

A dated building reimagined as a modern workplace, and another step in Takapuna's regeneration. Great to see the North Shore getting spaces like this.

Pinterest is full of beautiful rooms. Turning one of those images into a home that actually feels like yours takes quality design, strong collaboration and serious craftsmanship.

For this new Cambridge home, DSGNR worked with the owners and the builder on a bedroom built around texture rather than decoration. Rather than art above the bed, the wall itself became the feature.

Three Muros Natural Rock panels were installed as a sculptural centrepiece — stacked, then shaped seamlessly to a pointed peak that rises toward the six-metre ceiling. Finished in Resene Bokara Grey, with a heavy tint metallic coating that lifts every seam and crevice in the stone, turning a raw rock texture into a dramatic focal point that changes with the light.

Around it, Forté Urban SEOUL 190 ceiling boards and intricate custom timber battens — framed and finished by Tunley Construction — bring warmth, depth and precision to the detail below.

Bringing the outside in.
When this Fendalton home was renovated, the brief wasn't just a beautiful homely kitchen and living space. It was continuity.

Burnt Red Loft Brick was chosen to echo the permanent real brick around the outdoor fireplace and pool. The goal was to carry the same material palette inside so the entertaining spaces read as one connected story.

Against black cabinetry, timber and steel, the aged brick brings warmth, texture and character — proof that modern design doesn't have to feel cold.

The best part? This isn't a client's home. It's the interior designer's own. When she chose materials for the spaces she lives in every day, Burnt Red Loft Brick not only fitted the brief perfectly but allowed a distressed effect to be applied over the installed panels.

In winter, the fireplace becomes the heart of the home — so the surface surrounding it matters as much as the flames.

This installation pairs a sleek gas fireplace with Muros Grey Roughcast Concrete. Running from floor to ceiling, it gives the fire scale and a backdrop with depth, rather than a flat wall that goes unnoticed.

When CDM Limited relocated the Barfoot & Thompson Otahuhu team into their new corner site, the reception wall had one brief: make a brand people already trust feel right at home.

We supplied three panels of Muros Grey Roughcast Concrete for the backdrop, installed vertically behind the desk. It's a faux concrete finish that keeps all the honest detail of the real thing — timber formwork lines, aggregate seams, the occasional crack and air pocket — so the illuminated B&T logo contrasts against a raw, textured wall,without competing with it.

The weathered concrete was a natural fit for Otahuhu's industrial character, and being lightweight panels, installation was quick and clean. CDM design each Barfoot & Thompson branch around the locality and the team operating it, and this one landed exactly where it needed to. Design, build and fit-out by CDM Limited.

This is the Rheem New Zealand Innovation & Learning Centre extension by Euroclass Design and Build — a project that started with conversations and concept renders back in early 2025. A full twelve months from brief to official launch and final photography in March this year.
