Three photos.

Same day.

Somewhere between the first one and the last one, someone said "we'll just finish this bit."

That was several hours ago.

Nobody has brought it up since. 😅

Nothing subtle about getting a pool delivered.

One minute it’s a normal street.

The next, a whole swimming pool is rolling past on a trailer.

Neighbourhood curtain twitching begins in 3… 2… 1… 👀

The commute from the couch to the pool is brutal.

Nearly four steps.

This is what a plunge pool does best.

It turns a compact courtyard into the spot everyone actually wants to use.

No sprawling section.

No long walk back to the snacks.

Just sun, water and a very convenient afternoon setup.

Auckland's newest waterfall.

One day only.

After that it becomes a pool and nobody makes a fuss about it ever again.

Fill day is quietly the best day on any build. The hole finally stops being a hole.

Everyone finds a reason to stand around and watch it happen. Including the digger driver, who has seen it a hundred times. 💦

Day one is not a good look.

A truck the size of a house.

A hole where the lawn used to be.

Dirt absolutely everywhere.

This is the exact moment every homeowner goes quiet and starts doing sums in their head.

Swipe to the last photo.

Same backyard. 😏

Every Sapphire Blue pool starts out a very convincing shade of brown.

There’s a fair bit of digging before the sparkling-water part.

For now, it’s dirt, machinery and the neighbours wondering what’s going on.

The blue bit is coming. 💦

Who knew. 😏

Thanks for the five-star review.

That time of year where Auckland starts giving little hints of summer.

A bit more daylight.

A few warmer afternoons.

And the sudden realisation that this would be a very good spot to spend them.

Pool season is creeping closer.

Quietly.

But we’ve noticed. 💦

Pool delivery day.

Also known as the day the whole street suddenly becomes very interested in construction.

Bins paused.

Curtains twitching.

Someone definitely saying, “Wonder how much that costs?”

All part of the show. 😅
