Winter doesn't have to mean staying off the deck.

Timber looks beautiful year-round, but wet, worn, or algae-covered boards can get slippery fast. Our coatings are designed to work with the wood, not over it.

Our Anti-Slip Transparent Coating keeps the grain visible. RubberGrip Spray adds flexible grip across decks, ramps, and walkways.

Slips and falls are one of the leading causes of injury at home in New Zealand, and most happen on surfaces that look perfectly fine.

At SlipSafe, we believe prevention shouldn't come at the cost of your home's character. Our treatments are invisible, durable, and designed to work on the floors you already have.

Safer for families. Safer for pets. Same floors you love.

The first step is a floor assessment. Book yours today. ๐Ÿ”— https://slipsafe.co.nz/

One of the most common misconceptions about floor safety: if it looks rough and textured, it must be safe.

Slip resistance actually degrades over time, through wear, cleaning products, and water. A floor that passed the feel test three years ago might not pass it today.

We use pendulum testing against NZ standards to find out for sure.

Most floor treatments stop at application. The SlipSafe process doesn't.

We test, sample, treat, certify - and come back each year to make sure your floors stay safe. It's a system built around accountability, not just aesthetics.

The next 8 weeks are the highest-risk period for slip and fall injuries in NZ, and most organisations don't know it until someone gets hurt.

Here's what happens every winter:
โ†’ Moisture builds up on entrances and walkways
โ†’ Surface treatments wear thin from summer foot traffic
โ†’ Cold temperatures reduce natural traction
โ†’ Slip and fall incidents spike

The fix isn't complicated. A preventative audit identifies which surfaces fall below the NZS 4663 compliance standard. We treat them. We certify them. Done.

The next 3 months will see more slip-and-fall incidents than any other time of the year.

The areas most at risk? Schools. Councils. Aged care facilities. Transport hubs. Public walkways. Anywhere foot traffic meets a wet winter floor.

The good news: slip injuries are preventable. A surface audit and targeted anti-slip treatment can dramatically reduce your risk before the season peaks.

Flooring compliance isn't something to solve at the end of a project.

SlipSafe partners with architects, designers, and specifiers across New Zealand to simplify compliance with NZS 4586 and NZS 4663 from the outset.

Our independently tested anti-slip treatments and coatings are suitable for both new and existing surfaces, delivering compliant solutions that maintain the integrity of your design. From clear finishes to coloured systems for high-traffic environments, we help make compliant specification easier.

Here's something most people don't realise - "anti-slip" is a marketing claim, not a compliance standard. ๐Ÿ™…

In New Zealand, the only recognised way to verify a floor's slip resistance is through the Pendulum Test Method, tested to NZS 4586 (new surfaces) or NZS 4663 (existing surfaces). Without that independent result, there's no way to know if a product actually performs where it matters most.

A certified test result doesn't just protect the people using your space. It protects you too.
