Double trouble!🙋♀️🙋♀️
It's time to highlight some of our awesome staff, this week Jaqualine and Rosemary Betz share their experiences as twins in the workplace.
For Jaqueline and Rosemary, the idea of working together at Dependable Power and Shape Group Ltd sprouted from a genuine passion for the job, and the twins' shared enthusiasm.
“I was really enjoying what I was doing at work, and Rosie would pop in during lunchtime; then my manager asked ‘What's your sister doing for work?’. We basically had the opportunity to say “She's quite keen to do what I'm doing.”– Jaqualine
When the idea of doubling up on talent emerged, it was a no-brainer to bring Rosemary into the mix at SHAPE. While challenges exist, the sisters' commitment to individual growth and mutual success serves as an inspiration to those looking to forge strong bonds in the workplace.
Balancing work and personal life is key, especially when your sibling is your co-worker. But Jaqualine and Rosemary have mastered the art of switching gears. They know when to clock out and shift from work mode to sister mode, ensuring that their bond remains rock-solid beyond the office walls.
Do people sometimes mix up Jaqualine and Rosemary? Of course, it happens! But hey, they take it all in good humor, seeing it as just another quirk of being twins. After all, it adds a fun twist to the office banter.
“It's actually quite enjoyable to have clients or staff go between the two businesses as they get confused between us.” – Jaqualine
While they may share the same DNA, Jaqualine and Rosemary have unique career aspirations. From climbing the ladder to managerial roles to exploring different areas of expertise, they're on a joint mission of growth and self-discovery, cheering each other on every step of the way.
“We've been like that since we were younger, attempted to divert a bit just so that we can grow, but sometimes you get an interest in the same things and have similar goals” -Rosemary
Working with your twin definitely has its perks, like having a built-in support system and a partner in crime for office shenanigans. But there are also challenges, like coordinating vacations, rivalry, the occasional joke, mix-up, or strange blog written about you. Fortunately, these things are at a minimum as the sisters don’t actually work in the same office, meaning there is plenty of space for them to walk their own path, and experience their own wins and losses.
“The thing is, we like to see each other succeed, so we're always there to give each other a push to get to that success if need be.” – Rosemary
For Jaqualine and Rosemary at SHAPE, one thing is clear – their story is a testament to the power of teamwork, resilience, and strong bonds. As they continue to chart their course the sisters serve as an excellent example to those looking to create bonds, build relationships, grow careers, and achieve mutual success in the workplace.
