It’s been a pleasure working with Emergency Management Southland to bring as much generation support and electrical services to the Southland Rural Community as we could. Thanks to Clyde Hiab Services for the after hours crane and transport assistance moving generators South. We were glad to see the cow sheds turning and fresh water flowing, but most importantly the sigh of relief from the farmers. Stay safe, warm and away from any overhead lines that are still on the ground.
To the network crews carrying out repairs in marginal conditions, your commitment and dedication is recognised highly amongst members of the general public 💪🏻⚡️
We continue to support farmers with generation and look forward to completing our growing list of Terra Cat generator installs in the near future.
Kudos to the PowerNet crews!
The number of homes without power continues to reduce thanks to some outstanding mahi from PowerNet and a range of contractors.
Cold and snowy weather is adding to the challenges today and we appreciate your commitment to restoring our essential services.
As of 12pm today, approximately 4,800 customers in Southland and 1,889 customers in Otago remain without power.
We continue to urge people without power who need support to reach out to our welfare team on 0800 890 127 between the hours of 9am-4.30pm or email [email protected].
