At Templeton Engineering we were proud to see our apprentices gaining valuable hands-on experience out on site. The team helped install the steel framing for a new home, putting their skills into practice alongside our experienced crew. It was great to see them learning on the job and contributing to a project that will stand strong for years to come

Interesting story about early Albert Town

This is a photo of Norman’s Hotel, the Post Office and Store in Albert Town.

Around this time, Albert Town was the centre of the Hāwea/Wānaka region for almost a decade largely because of its role in communications. Until 1873 it was the postal terminus, and the arrival of the mail coach would see the town fill up with men from the outlying districts. It was the site of the first school which opened in 1868.

EDIT: Originally this post dated the photo as 1863, but the exact year it was taken is harder to pinpoint than first thought, and is likely later since the Norman's did not move to the south side of the Clutha River until 1865. One source believes the photo was taken between 1892 - 1898 when the Parsons owned it, another between 1865 - 1875. Other dates have been attributed to it, and all have been approximate.

We worked with .heatwave to bring their new space at 59 Brownston Street in Wanaka to life. Our team built the custom shelving, garment rails and display stand that now showcase their range with clean lines and solid craftsmanship.
