Day 2 | Closing the IEEE Nepal Conference Leadership Workshop 2026

As we concluded the 1.5-day IEEE Nepal Conference Leadership Workshop 2026, we reflected on enriching discussions, shared experiences, and active learning around what it truly takes to build high-quality IEEE conferences. From credibility and governance to technical integrity, ethical peer review, and industry engagement, the conversations were practical, honest, and deeply relevant.

The insights gained over these two days will serve as a strong foundation as we move toward envisioning and planning a National flagship IEEE conference, right here in Nepal, reflecting global IEEE standards and Nepal’s growing research and innovation capacity.

Day 1 of IEEE Nepal CLW 2026 (30th Jan- 2026) , concluded with insightful discussions on conference quality, transparency, and global IEEE standards, complemented by hands-on exercises that transformed theory into practice. A strong beginning toward shaping world-class conferences in Nepal.

Pure joy and global vibes in the heart of
Kathmandu!

There is something truly special about the IEEE community-it's where local passion meets global vision.

The Vice Chair from IEEE Thapathali, Yugal Nyoupane, shared a wonderful connection with Fred Schindler (2025-26 IEEE President- Elect) during the IEEE CLW 2026 at Hotel Crowne Imperial.

Meeting Mr. Fred isn't just about meeting a leader who has shaped the semiconductor world at giants like IBM and Qorvo; it's about connecting with a mentor who truly cares about the "human" side of engineering. As the current IEEE VP of Technical Activities, Fred brings decades of wisdom, yet he spent this time in Nepal with a huge smile, proving that leadership is all about heart. Beyond the titles, this was a moment of genuine friendship and the happiness of building a global engineering family. It's these heart-to-heart connections that remind us we are part of something much bigger. So grateful for the warmth and inspiration shared!
