Position: Lab Technician
Location: Sanepa kharibot, Lalitpur

Job Description
As a Lab Technician, you will be responsible for:

• Perform testing in accordance with Standard General’s Quality Control System.
• Understanding test methods and procedures.
• Analysis of test data and corrective action to prevent non-conforming products.
• Documentation and Data Control.
• Care and Maintenance of testing equipment
• Purchasing and Calibration of testing equipment

Qualification
• Completion of three years Diploma in Civil Engineering level or equivalent.
• Good working attitude
• Having two-wheeler driving license.
• Some knowledge on financial process, documentations.
• Basic knowledge on computer
• A minimum of 1 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Good understanding of laboratory information systems and automated laboratory equipment.
• A critical thinker with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Outstanding analytical abilities.

Salary: Negotiable

Concrete cores are usually cut by means of a rotary cutting tool with diamond bits. The core should then be soaked in water, capped with molten sulfur to make its ends plane, parallel, at right angle and then tested in compression in a moist condition as per ASTM C 42-77. The core samples can also be used for the following:

(L.A.) abrasion test
Abrasion testing determines the relative quality, toughness, and durability of mineral aggregates subjected to impact and abrasion. This testing offers insight into how asphalt and concrete aggregates will stand up to wear and tear over time. It’s also a good indicator of changing properties in an aggregate source as part of quality control or quality assurance program. It measures the degradation of standard grading’s of aggregates when subjected to abrasion and impact in a rotating steel drum with an abrasive charge of steel balls.
