Urban Spatial Data Analysis and Applications at Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST)

काठमाडौँ महानगरपालिका-Kathmandu Metropolitan City Office has published the दररेट (Rate list) for FY 2083/84, including mapping-related items and manpower costs for geomatics engineering works.

This is an important step toward the standardization, proper valuation, and institutional recognition of surveying, mapping, GIS, and other geomatics-related works in Nepal.

Nepal Geomatics Engineering Society (NGES) appreciates and acknowledges KMC’s continued effort toward strengthening the professional recognition of the geomatics sector.

Drones transport goods across the Trisuli river where bridges have been washed out due to flash floods.

Drones are being used to transfer goods across Trisuli river as communities have been disconnected since bridges have been completely washed out in many places due to the Bhotekoshi-Trishuli flash flood. Geomatics engineers Pravin Lamsal, Shishir Lamsal, Santosh Budhathoki along with other geomatics engineers as well as drone pilots are not only using drones for transporting goods across Trisuli but also capacitating personnel from security agencies to operate the drones.

Current Road Status & Debris Clearance : Dhunge Area, Bidur Municipality

The main road access through the Dhunge area of Bidur Municipality, Nuwakot, is currently clear. However, significant amounts of debris remain along the road section. NGES is volunteering to prioritize specific areas for clearance and needs updated ground-level information to deploy resources effectively.
