Nepal's location in a seismically active region necessitates the expertise of consulting engineers to ensure the safety and resilience of its infrastructure. The country has experienced several significant earthquakes in recent years, In November 2023, a 5.7 magnitude earthquake struck Jajarkot District, resulting in at least 153 deaths and injuring over 375 individuals. The quake caused extensive damage, with more than 26,000 houses collapsing across thirteen districts.
The following year, in December 2024, a 5.2 magnitude earthquake occurred in Bajura District. While this event did not result in significant damage or casualties, it served as a reminder of the region's ongoing seismic activity.
Most recently, in January 2025, a powerful 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck near Mount Everest, with tremors felt across Nepal and parts of India. This event caused at least 95 deaths and injured 130 individuals, highlighting the persistent seismic threats in the region.
Given this history, it's imperative to consult experienced engineers to design and construct buildings capable of withstanding such natural disasters, ensuring the safety and well-being of Nepal's communities.
