In the midst of the devastating floods, we reviewed the working principles of early warning systems installed across various river basins.

One important observation stood out: the early warning systems established in the and River basins seem to be highly responsive in capturing sudden flash-flood events.

The key is .

Unlike systems that measure water levels only at fixed intervalsтАФsuch as every 5 or 10 minutesтАФthese systems are connected to automatic flood sensors that continuously monitor water levels. This makes it possible to capture rapid changes and critical events happening within seconds.

As soon as the water level breaches a predefined threshold, the system can automatically trigger the warning siren. This means vulnerable communities can be notified within seconds of a critical event occurring.

In flash-flood-prone areas, where every second matters, continuous monitoring and automatic threshold-based warnings can make a significant difference.

We are pleased to announce the successful completion of operational training for the Multihazard Smart Siren тАЬMYNAтАЭ тАШрдореИрдирд╛тАЩ in collaboration with Dodhara Chandani Municipality and NEEDS Nepal.

The training focused on the operation, alert activation, and practical use of MYNA as a community-based early warning tool.

Installed at Ward No. 8 of Dodhara Chandani Municipality, MYNA is designed to provide timely alerts to communities during multiple hazards, including floods, landslides, fire, and other emergencies.

The system will strengthen last-mile communication by enabling rapid, clear, and locally understandable warning messages, helping communities receive critical information when every second matters.

Successfully completed the detailed topographic survey, hydrological station setup, and measurements for a storage project in Lumbuni Province.

Despite the extremely challenging terrain, narrow gorges, difficult access, and lack of nearby settlements, our dedicated field team worked through extended camping and demanding field conditions to successfully complete the data collection.
