Why Geohazard Assessment is Crucial for Risk-Informed Preparedness, Early Action and Response
Effective disaster response planning starts with scientific evidence. Under the Pratibaddha-III Project (supported by EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid), a multidisciplinary team including geologists, geotechnical engineer, hydrologist, and sociologist is carrying out Geo-hazard Assessment across 17 landslide high-risk settlements in Nalagad Municipality, Jajarkot.
How this assessment drives better preparedness, early action and response:
Identifies Hazard and Vulnerabilities
Informs Mitigation Measures
Guides Local Government for Safe Resettlement
By bridging the gap between science and social reality, the project is contributing for data based disaster preparedness, early action and response for vulnerable communities of Nalagad Municipality.
