The catastrophic flood of 26 August 2026 in Rasuwa has raised critical questions about disaster mechanisms, cascading hazards, infrastructure vulnerability, emergency response, and long-term resilience.
To facilitate an informed, multidisciplinary dialogue, the Nepal Geotechnical Society (NGS), together with the Nepal Engineersโ Association โ Disaster Risk Management and Reconstruction Coordination Committee (NEA-DRMRCC) and collaborating professional organizations, is bringing together experts from geology, infrastructure, transportation, water-related hazards, and disaster management.
