As part of Women in Engineering, we present a powerful panel discussion on Engineering Equality: Women Navigating Academia and Industry; a conversation shaped by diverse journeys, disciplines, and lived experiences.
Aastha Pandey, with academic foundations spanning Kathmandu University, ITPCAS–UCAS (China), and Stockholm University, brings a global perspective rooted in environmental systems, hydrogeochemistry, and sustainable planning. Her work in nature-based and circular solutions reflects a commitment to regenerative development and bridging people with the systems that sustain them.
Nitisha Kafle, a Structural Engineer trained at Advanced College of Engineering & Management and the Asian Institute of Technology, combines technical precision with social responsibility. From structural design to community-led and disaster recovery initiatives, she is driven by the belief that resilient infrastructure must go hand in hand with resilient communities.
Astha Acharya, a Civil Engineer with advanced studies in management, public administration, and disaster resilience including at the University of Newcastle as an Australia Awards Scholar, has dedicated her career to disaster risk reduction and post-earthquake recovery in Nepal. With a people-first approach, she transforms complex engineering challenges into practical, community-centered solutions.
Palisha Shakya, a Chemical Engineer with a Master of Engineering (Hons) from the University of Nottingham, brings expertise in research, nanocomposites, and process design, alongside strong project management and analytical skills. Currently teaching A-Level students at Rato Bangala School, she integrates engineering knowledge with education to develop thoughtful, real-world impact.
Together, they represent the evolving face of engineering; technical excellence guided by equity, resilience, and purpose.
