Michel Bijl and his family from the Netherlands had an action packed trip lately...
Not only did they do well on the fishing, they also captured some spectacular footage of the Orcas!
Three generations of family, together, enjoying what nature has to offer... it warms my heart, looking forward to seeing you all again 🥰😊🐳🎣

Lenny was back with the boys from Newcastle and had plenty of fish from the boat and the shore. Cod and Po***ck mostly with the odd Haddock and Coalfish. Lenny took the fish of the week landing a PB - 15lb Po***ck on the boat... they were also lucky enough to witness the Orcas 😎😁

One of our Norwegian friends caught a specimen Trout from a local lake last week. It weighed in at 5.09kg and was a PB and lake record, well done mate - fantastic fish! 😍👏

Me and Toby even managed to sneak in a days fishing from the boat. The weather was beautiful and fish were biting! Plenty of Po***ck and Cod landed, with Toby getting the best Po***ck weighing 10.5lb and me showing him how it's done with an 18.2lb Cod... there's still life in the old dog yet!! 😏😁🎣🐟🇧🇻🇧🇻

Some unbelievable and extremely rare footage of the Orca teaching its three young calves how to hunt Porpoise🤩

The video was recorded by Michel Bijl on a recent trip to Skarnsundet with his family. Well done mate, absolutely fantastic!! 😁👍

Here's a little video of the recent sightings of the Orcas, here at Skarnsundet...
A little reminder to guests, if you do spot the whales whilst fishing from the boat... Make sure you follow from a distance, don't travel at high speeds and don't cross their paths...
If you are lucky enough that the whales come close to your boat, make sure that your engine is switched off and do not start it again until they have moved on and are a good distance away from the boat...
If we all take this into consideration and show the utmost respect towards nature, they will continue to feed and breed in the Fjord for years to come...

It is their world... we just live in it 😊😍🐳🇳🇴🇳🇴

The Halibut season is well underway now and there's been a few starting to show here at Skarnsundet 😍🎣

Jacco and his friends from Holland had good trip lately, landing two nice ones from the boat... along with plenty of Cod, Coalfish and Po***ck 😊

Tim Lane and his crew were here for a weeks shore fishing, catching two smaller Halibut from the Landing and Mosvik pier which were released to see another day... they also did well on the Cod and the Po***ck, cracking bunch of lads 😎🎣

Always a pleasure having Dave Radcliffe and the boys here. They lost count of the amount of Po***ck from the shore into double figures and did really well on the species hunt again 😁

Cliff Jones set the bar high for the Po***ck from the shore this year though... landing a beauty weighing 14lb 6oz, caught from the pier here at Skarnsundet on a light shad rod... well done mate! 🤩👏

Toby got his boat back in the lake last week ready for the Pike season, his mate landed two to 7lb and his other mate caught a specimen Brown Trout weighing 4.8lb!! Toby also had a session down in Verabotn trying for Halibut... unfortunately they didnt turn up, but he did have a few Cod to 9lb and a surprise Spurdog weighing 8.9lb 😁🎣🎣🐟

The Orcas have been in the Fjørd for a few weeks now, spectacular to see up close and an unbelievable experience for the guests... I will upload some videos soon 😊😍🐳🇧🇻🇧🇻

Dougal and the boys had a cracking 3 week trip recently... they've been coming to Skarnsundet for years now and visit up to 3 times a years... but said this was one of the best so far!! 😁😎

They were on the fish everday, with Po***ck and Cod well into double figures from the boat and shore 🤩

Darren had a 14.5lb PB Pollack,
Ian had a 15.8lb PB Pollack and Tim stole the show a 22.8lb PB Cod and a 19lb PB Pollack!! Ian also had a surprise Salmon over 1m long, take his shad when fishing for Pollack at Verrabotn. The fish was safely released alive, after a quick photo 👏

All fish were caught on light spinning rods, 5000 size Shimano reels and 10g shads, unbelievable sport 💪🎣🎣🐟

It was an absolute pleasure having you here again lads, as always... until next time 😊👍🎣🇧🇻🇧🇻

Really busy here at Skarnsundet now and there's plenty of fish being caught 😁🎣

Always a pleasure to accommodate Scott Rennie and the military lads, they had an enjoyable trip again catching Cod, Pollack and Coalfish, with fish into double figures.

Our good friend Leszek and his mates had another visit lately with fish from the boat and shore... the pick of the bunch has got to be Leszek's specimen Lumpfish, caught from the Lay-by😍🎣🐟

Ollie, Kevin and Rio Handley, along with Greg Whitehead smashed the fish from the boat and shore... 12 year old Rio stealing the show by catching a 19lb Cod from the Landing, 5 minute drive over the bridge from Skarnsundet... incredible achievement, massive well done young man 😎💪🎣🥰

Our close friends and local fishermen Rune Lindsetmo and his father Svein had a nice surprise when they landed a beauty Monk fish from their boat fishing local, weighing 24kg... biggest I've seen here at Skarnsundet 😍👏 Haven't had any time to get out myself but I did manage to catch a specimen slipper fish, as you can see by the hand to fish ratio... it was an absolute monster!! 😏🙈

Dougal and the boys are here again at the moment and they are having an excellent trip, one of the best yet catching some cracking fish... I'll get a post up when they go home next week 😁🤩🎣🎣🇧🇻🇧🇻

It's been busy here at Skarnsundet lately so only just getting the opportunity to upload some photos from recent weeks 😏🙈

Lenny and the boys returned after a successful first trip last year, had plenty of fish with the best being Cod to 26lb from the boat 🤩

The shore fishing has been hit and miss with the biggest Cod following the shoals of herring, getting ready for spawning... but when the time and effort is put in they are still there to be found, aswell as Coalfish to double figures 🎣

Syd finally managed to get his double with a cracking Coalie from the pier at Skarnsundet weighing 12lb 😊

Chris, Gordon and Keith managed to locate some good fish on local marks with Cod and Coalfish to double figures 😎

Was and absolute pleasure to have Chris, Karen, James and Stuart here from Ireland 🇮🇪 Had plenty of fish to double figures with a number of different species... the highlight has got to be Stuart's 8lb Coalfish caught on a fly rod on the pier here at Skarnsundet, well done mate, unbelievable sport and a great achievement... you can see more photos, reports and videos if you follow "Irish Angling Adventures" on Facebook 👏😁🎣

Paul, Holly and family were here again, slow week fishing but they still had fish and some spectacular nights in the lights. Toby's also been back out capturing some stunning sights of the Northern Lights... I even managed to get out a few times and catch some double figure Cod from the shore 😊😍🎣🎣🐟🇧🇻🇧🇻

There's a better stamp of Cod getting caught from the shore now here at Skarnsundet, with plenty of fish into double figures 😁🎣

Richard Nealon was here recently and had one 16.02lb off pier at the accommodation. He just got pipped off his mate Lee Scott though who had a couple of doubles to 16.06lb. 😏👏

Our Brian and the lads arrived on Friday for their 15th consecutive year, he managed to pull in a cracking 19lb Coalfish on his first cast from the pier at Skarnsundet! They've also had plenty of Cod into double figures 🤩🎣🐟

There's also been Pollack, Haddock and a few small Halibut in amongst the Cod, with guests getting them up to 15lb... all fish were safely returned alive after a quick photo 😊📸

The Northern Lights have still been spectacular lately, with Toby and Mona capturing some unbelievable sights around Skarnsundet... Nice to see some the guests get photos of their fish with them in the background too!! 😁😍🎣🎣🐟🌌🇧🇻🇧🇻
