24 hours, 481 km and 120 laps around the Zolder Circuit — covering a distance greater than the journey from Bergen to Oslo. Nordlys NTNU are officially Norwegian champions in solar racing! Finishing 17th in our first race is an achievement we can be truly proud of. What a wonderful journey!🇳🇴🎉🥳

12 HOURS DOWN. 12 TO GO. 🏁⚡️

We’ve officially reached the halfway point of the 24-hour race at iESC!

After 12 hours on track, Nordlys has completed 70 laps. From daylight into the night, our drivers have been taking turns behind the wheel while the rest of the team has been working continuously in the pit to keep the car running.

There are still 12 hours left, and the race continues through the night. Now it’s all about staying focused, keeping the car on track and pushing through to the finish. 🌙☀️

After 40+ dedicated students, putting in 20-hour weeks, three years in the making, Lumholtz has now passed both static and dynamic scrutineering. We’re officially ready to compete. 🏎️💨

Today has been all about the final touches before putting the car through static scrutineering. The team has been working hard to make sure everything is ready and checked off.

Tomorrow, we take the next step test driving the car on track. 🏁

For the 2026 season, Nordlys NTNU is preparing to participate in the iLumen European Solar Challenge 2026🇧🇪. This will be an important opportunity for the team to test the car’s performance, reliability and energy efficiency in competitive race conditions🏁

We chose AIKO’s ABC technology because every watt matters in a solar car. Their high-efficiency solar cells allow us to make the most of the limited surface area on the vehicle, which is crucial for performance and energy efficiency. We are proud to have AIKO supporting Nordlys NTNU on our journey toward the iLumen European Solar Challenge 2026!

Project leader Rasmus gave a presentation at Dokkhuset, about how we can collectively drive the technologies of tomorrow and why renewable energy is the way forward.
Through student initiatives at Nordlys NTNU, we aim to give students the opportunity to explore creative and engaging ways to innovate within renewable technology. By involving students with a technological background in projects, we can show that renewable energy is exciting, and how it represents the future of technology.
