Heavy Engineering. Delivered On Site.

As we head into the summer season, VDA Lifting is proud to complete the largest mobile cylinder overhaul project in our company's history.

The project involved complete removal, overhaul and refurbishment of hydraulic cylinders weighing approximately 13.5 tonnes each, measuring more than 8 metres in length, with an internal bore diameter of approximately 550 mm.
Following removal from the vessel, the cylinders were transferred directly into VDA Lifting's mobile cylinder service setup, where the complete refurbishment was carried out.

The scope included:
✅ Complete disassembly and reassembly
✅ Mobile horizontal honing
✅ Pressure testing and verification
✅ Hydraulic flushing and filtration
✅ Digital cleanliness and particle measurement
✅ Full documentation and certification

Before delivery, every cylinder is pressure tested and flushed using VDA Lifting's dedicated pressure and flushing unit. Pressure performance, cleanliness level and particle contamination were digitally measured, documented and verified.
A complete digital test and cleanliness certificate is issued for every cylinder prior to handover.

This project represents another milestone in a long-standing partnership with a valued customer who continues to place its trust in VDA Lifting for demanding offshore and marine maintenance projects.

The project continues throughout the summer, as the refurbished cylinders will be reinstalled onboard the vessel by the VDA Lifting team during the coming weeks.
A fantastic effort from everyone involved and a strong way to enter the summer season.
13.5 tonnes. More than 8 metres. 560 mm bore.
