is one of the leading suppliers of high quality used earthmoving machinery and road equipment worldwide. From our office and yard in Venlo, we provide our clients with the best solution for their needs in used equipment. Smitma was founded in 1968 as a contractor and machinery repair shop. In those days we already sold our own used equipment and started to trade, mostly in used bulldozers. Because of the increasing demand in used machinery we have stopped our contracting work in the mid 70’s to focus on the machinery business. From the beginnings we have always been developing our ways of doing business and we have been listing to our clients to deliver the machines they needed. With 25 members of staff to clean, service, repair, buy/sell and arrange logistics & customs we deal about 600 machines per year to all parts of the world. We have about 100 machines in stock like excavators, articulated and rigid dump trucks, dozers, motor graders, wheel loaders, compactors, asphalt pavers, Cold milling machines. We mostly sell brands as Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, Wirtgen, Demag Vögele, Dynapac, Bomag and Hamm.

Vanaf ons terrein in Venlo gaan graafmachines, wielladers en motorgraders naar klanten over de hele wereld. Daarachter zit een ervaren verkoopteam dat klanten persoonlijk begeleidt, van de eerste aanvraag tot de aankoop. Voor dat team zoeken we versterking.

Als accountmanager binnendienst zorg jij dat aanvragen via telefoon, e-mail en WhatsApp snel antwoord krijgen, en dat er klanten uit groeien die jaren blijven. Daarnaast ga je zelf actief op zoek naar nieuwe kansen op de internationale markt.

Je werkt samen met drie directe collega's, in een familiebedrijf met 30 mensen. Korte lijnen, veel vakkennis en liefde voor machines. Je bent hier geen nummertje.

Spreek je Nederlands en Engels, heb je minimaal 2 jaar verkoopervaring en krijg je energie van internationale handel? Dan maken we graag kennis. Duits, Frans of Spaans is mooi meegenomen.

A machine that's fifteen years old, with 20.000 hours on it. The gearbox is taken apart in our workshop, and it still looks like this.

John and Mark Smits have always been fascinated by technology, and that hasn't changed. As Mark puts it: "For a layperson it's all old stuff. The fact that old equipment can still be this good, that's what we love."

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱

An old chicken barn, just 30 metres from the family home. That's where John and Mark Smits' father Wim Smits bought his first machine and started doing repairs. Evantually the barn became to small, and around 1980 the business moved to a bigger yard in Someren in the Netherlands.

As kids, John and Mark were already helping out on Wednesdays, Saturdays and in the evenings. Today, they are still the owners of Smitma.

What happens before a machine leaves our yard?

Frank, our workshop manager, takes you inside the Smitma workshop. Every machine starts with a thorough cleaning and inspection. Our mechanics then carry out repairs where needed, and if required we repaint the machine.

That is how we make sure every machine leaves our yard at the quality you expect from Smitma.
