Have you seen our new labels yet? 👀

Over the past few months we have worked on two new label designs for three different packaging styles to run on our BTB25. The first design is a Lareka-themed label for a full-envelope and a band-wrap packaging style whereas the second one is specifically designed for a cardboard band-wrap.

The process of designing our own labels was great! From picking the right colours to choosing the printing techniques and comparing the different wrapping materials, we have done it all and we have written it all down for you on our website news entry!

The Napolitains and small chocolate bars market is extremely competitive and filled with industrial mass produced products. To stand out from the rest, manufacturers need to find the right market segment that fits their products and customers’ desires best.

But how can they do that?
At Lareka some of our customers are great examples of how to thrive in such a competitive market through custom gifts and personalized chocolate bars:
- Chocolaterie DuPLESSIS recreates paintings, french sites and monuments through boxes including from 8 to 36 napolitains chocolate. On top of that, they offer their customers to choose how to personalize their boxes and create custom gifts for every kind of occasion.
- Stelvi takes a similar approach and produces napolitains and small bars that are fully customizable by their customers. Their uniqueness lies in the fact that each concept is different and tailored to the customers’ needs and desires.
- Laderach wraps each of their premium napolitains with landmarks and various scenes of Switzerland. These are then put together in a box and marketed as premium gifts.
- VINTE VINTE with their bean to bar assortiment in a box

What is very interesting for manufacturers choosing to produce napolitains in chocolate boxes is the price. When wrapped in special packaging or customized, such boxes which contain 90grams of chocolate can often be sold for around 8 - 14 euros per box. These types of products are sold for an average of 100 euros/kg of chocolate.

To wrap their products, Stelvi, Chocolaterie DuPlessis and Laderach make use of a Lareka NP60 machine. The NP60 wraps 60 napolitains per minute and allows them to quickly switch labels and machine’s size set (in max 15 minutes!) to keep their production going. Reduced machine downtime, premium packaging and new chocolate formats are just a few of what contributed to their production’s optimization.

Another interesting market segment is bean to bear and high quality napolitains as small gifts for premium customers. For example, a welcome chocolate on the pillow of a luxe hotel or a premium napolitain next to a cup of coffee. However, what we have noticed with bean to bear chocolatiers is that napolitains are more of an add-on product rather than their main focus. In such cases, the BTB25 with a napolitain size set is a better option.

The Lareka NP60 machine can help you automate this process by wrapping multiple napolitain chocolate sizes on a single machine, with a size set changeover time of only 15 minutes. The size range allowed on the NP60 goes from a minimum size 25 x 30 mm to a maximum of 45 x 90 mm and wraps around 60 bars per minute.

This quick size adjustment gives manufacturers the flexibility to respond faster to customer demands while minimizing downtime between production runs.

Today is the final day of Interpack 2026!

It has been a great week and we are so happy to have been a part of it. From meeting partners and friends to making new connections, we can say that it was a successful and eventful week.

As we previously mentioned, this year we brought some surprises with us. We designed two new labels, one Lareka-themed one and one specifically for cardboard packaging. Additionally, on the first day we had live demos of wrapping personalised chocolate bars on the BTB25 with photos taken from the visitors.

We’re back from Bordeaux and ShowColat 2026 was a success!

Besides the location which was stunning, the room was full of cacao makers and experts introducing their tasty products. Conversations about chocolate were flowing and of course, tastings were involved (we never get tired of those 😋).

During ShowColat Lareka’s Director Martin Barthel took the stage and gave a presentation about sustainable packaging materials within the chocolate industry and the payback period of a Lareka machine.

The BTB25 is so compact that:
It is smaller than the working table you’re using to hand-wrap your chocolate bars.
