Another Honda K-Series engine brought back to life with our professional AquaBlast treatment! ✨

At RRA Aqua Division, it's not just about making aluminium look beautiful. It's about attention to detail, proper preparation and long-lasting results.

💥 When you push for the limit on the dyno… and 4th gear tells you where it is.

This gearbox had already been rebuilt and was later tested on the dyno.

At around 670 hp, the dyno showed unexpected drops in power. After inspection, the cause became clear — 4th gear had reached its limit and unfortunately didn’t survive the load.

🔧 Ignition Distributor Rebuild

This one brings back the old days, when I used to rebuild several of these every week. 😄

Even today, the OEM Honda ignition distributor is still one of the best options for many Honda builds. In fact, some tuners still require a proper OEM distributor setup before they will put the car on the dyno. 😅

Sometimes the old solutions are still the best ones.

🔧 Honda Type R K-Series Gearbox Build for a Toyota MR2 🇯🇵

This Type R K-Series gearbox came to me as part of a Toyota MR2 project.

⚙️ The gearbox was completely rebuilt mechanically, and this time the complete unit also received a full visual refresh to bring everything back to a very high standard.

✨ The gearbox casing received a full AquaBlast treatment, while the bolts and other metal hardware were restored and refinished in a gold zinc-style finish.

🔍 Inside the gearbox, quite a lot was replaced. Some components showed only light wear, while others had more noticeable wear, so everything that was no longer in good condition was replaced.

🏁 The gearbox received a complete set of Synchrotech carbon synchros, sleeves and hubs, together with a SpeedFactory shift spring kit. The remaining replacement parts were genuine OEM Honda components.

🔩 The complete 4th gear set was also replaced. These parts have already been discontinued and unavailable from many sources for quite some time. Fortunately, at RRA GearMaster I still have several sets available on the shelf.

✅ After assembly, the gearbox was fully checked and tested before being released.

The Honda K-series gearbox housing shown in this video is just one example of what we can do. We also treat engine covers, motorcycle parts, automotive components and many other aluminium parts.

For a Honda K-series gearbox housing, the basic service includes:

💦 AquaBlasting of the housing
🚿 Initial water rinse inside the blasting cabinet

Parts must be supplied dismantled, degreased and ready for blasting, free from heavy dirt, oil, grease, old sealant and other contamination.

Preparation and final cleaning are not included in the €200 price.

🔥 High-pressure final cleaning
A dedicated enclosed cleaning system uses heated water and pressure of up to 140 bar to flush difficult areas, threads, corners and accessible channels, helping remove remaining blasting media.

💨 Drying
Compressed-air drying inside the cleaning chamber.

🔎 Final inspection
Checking the cleanliness and finish of the treated parts.

Optional protection to help preserve the finish and reduce oxidation.
