How to clean your performance wheels properly.

Always start with cool wheels. Never clean wheels straight after driving or in full sun.

Rinse first. Remove loose dirt and brake dust before touching the finish.

Use mild products. Mild car shampoo is enough for regular maintenance. Avoid aggressive wheel cleaners.

Clean one wheel at a time. Face, spokes, barrel, then tyre. Finish the whole wheel before moving on.

Use separate tools. Keep wheel brushes and towels away from anything used on the paint.

Don’t forget the barrels. A clean car with black brake dust covered barrels still looks unfinished.

Protect the finish. Ceramic coating does not stop brake dust, but it makes it much easier to remove.

How much difference do exhaust valves actually make?

This BMW M5 G99 is fitted with an iPE cat-back system. Same car, same exhaust, the only difference is the valve position.

With the valves closed, the sound is more controlled and suitable for normal driving. Open them and the character of the car changes completely.

This is important to consider when choosing a performance exhaust. It is not only about how good the system sounds at full volume, but also how well you can control it.

Especially on a car like the M5, which can easily be used every day, that difference matters.
