A major milestone for the OranjeWind offshore wind project: the first monopile has been loaded out from Sifโs Maasvlakte terminal.
Sif is supplying 53 TP-less (transition piece-less) monopiles for OranjeWind, a joint venture between RWE and TotalEnergies. The offshore wind farm will have a total capacity of 795 MW and will be located 53 kilometres off the Dutch coast.
Once fully commissioned, OranjeWind is expected to generate enough renewable electricity to power the equivalent of around one million Dutch households each year. The transition piece-less design allows the turbines to be connected directly to the monopiles, reducing the amount of steel required.
A great milestone for the project and for everyone involved in bringing OranjeWind to life. โ
