Spotted today on the water — an impressive example of how inland shipping is adapting to the energy transition.
This massive inland vessel was purpose-built for LNG bunkering, supplying cleaner fuel to ships operating across the ARA region (Amsterdam–Rotterdam–Antwerp). Vessels like this play a key role in making LNG available where it is needed most.
At the heart of the operation are the cargo pumps from Svanehøj. These pumps are responsible for the safe and reliable transfer of LNG — quite literally the heartbeat of the bunkering system.
A large share of LNG bunker vessels operating in the ARA region are equipped with Svanehøj technology. Reliability is everything in this business. When a bunker vessel is alongside a customer, the system simply has to work.
To make sure it does, Svanehøj operates a specialized service location centrally in the ARA region. From there, engineers can respond quickly and support operators whenever needed.
Always great to see this kind of engineering at work.
