On dense urban construction sites, noise is often the first thing that changes when a machine goes electric.
Diesel engines in heavy equipment run loud for the full working day. Operators feel it, and so do the people in the buildings and streets around the site. For contractors working in city centres, noise complaints are a recurring issue that adds pressure to projects that are already under tight constraints.
With an electric drivetrain, the combustion engine is out of the picture. The hydraulics and the mechanical work remain, but the overall noise level drops considerably.
Less noise on site changes more than you'd expect.
