AFIXGROUP - De realisatie van de Victor Buyck Steel Construction boogbrug in Bertem toont opnieuw hoe complex moderne infrastructuurprojecten geworden zijn. In opdracht van Agentschap Wegen en Verkeer wordt de verouderde brug in slechte staat vervangen door een 28 m hoge en 130 m lange wegbrug.
De afzonderlijke brugdelen werden via uitzonderlijk transport op het voormontageplein aan de E40 neergezet en vervolgens opgevijzeld tot de hoogte voor dek betonnering. Het lassen van de brugdelen gebeurt van op de met krimpfolie omgeven AFIX FAST werkplatformen op 28 m hoogte. 2 trappentorens laten personeelstoegang toe.
