Client case: Grünbeck for Burger's Zoo Arnhem, Netherlands

📍 Located in Arnhem, the capital of Gelderland, Koninklijke Burgers' Zoo is a zoo famous for its impressive "ecodisplays". These recreations of natural ecosystems provide a unique and educational experience for visitors.

🔧 Innovation:
For the replacement of the existing installation, Burgers' Zoo has opted for an advanced water treatment system that meets their high standards. The system includes an OSMO-X reverse osmosis installation with a second stage OSMO-X permeate reverse osmosis installation. A delta-p softener is used as pretreatment instead of an anti-scalant system, ensuring the quality of the feed water to the RO system. The second stage RO is controlled and regulated from the first stage, resulting in a compact and complete system. The use of frequency-controlled pumps in the OSMO-X greatly reduces energy consumption.

💼 Scope of Supply and Services:
- Delta-p 1” softener installation, 3 m³/h
- GENO-OSMO-X 2200 reverse osmosis installation, 2.2 m³/h
- GENO-OSMO-X 2000 permeate reverse osmosis installation, 2 m³/h as the second stage
- GENO-HRX 2/40-1N pressure boosting installation, 1-4.2 m³/h

Grünbeck provided process engineering, manufacturing, installation of the new system, electrical installation, commissioning, and process integration.

Have you ever wondered about the different types of hydrogen and their impact on sustainability? Let's break it down: Blue, Grey, and Green Hydrogen. 🌱💧

Grey Hydrogen: This is the most common type of hydrogen produced today. It's derived from natural gas through a process called steam methane reforming (SMR), which releases carbon dioxide (CO2) as a byproduct into the atmosphere. Grey hydrogen is not environmentally friendly due to its carbon emissions.

Blue Hydrogen: Blue hydrogen is produced similarly to grey hydrogen, but with an added step: carbon capture and storage (CCS). This technology captures the CO2 emitted during the production process and stores it underground, reducing the carbon footprint associated with hydrogen production.
