This Tuesday, Avular once again took part in TU/e's Master Kick-Off Challenge Day, this time with our "Urban Robot of the Future" challenge.

New Master students spent the day exploring Challenge-Based Learning, working in teams on real-world issues across a range of themes. Our challenge filled up quickly, with 31 students working in our classroom.

Introducing this new generation of students to robotics is important to us. Hearing how young people approach a problem, the questions they ask and the ideas they come up with, is inspiring every time.

Thank you to all the students who joined our challenge, and to TU/e innovation Space for organizing another great kick-off to the academic year.

Last Friday, we wrapped up the quarter with our annual Rooftop BBQ. ☀️

Despite the heat wave, we stayed cool with cold drinks, shade, and good company, making it another memorable afternoon together. The Hawaiian theme matched the weather perfectly, giving the rooftop a more tropical feel with flower necklaces, Hawaiian shirts, and colorful decorations.

As always, the food was prepared by our own colleagues, with plenty of delicious dishes (both grilled meats and vegetarian options) to enjoy.

A big thank you to the Onion Committee and Scalogno team for organizing another great BBQ, and to everyone for participating and bringing the good vibes. 🌴

We are at ICRA this week in Vienna (International Conference on Robotics & Automation). The event brings together researchers, engineers and companies from around the world. It's inspiring to see all the developments in robotics and meet others in this field. If you're also at the event, find us at Booth 154.

This morning, to celebrate Labor Day and take a moment to appreciate each other, we started the day with a shared breakfast in the office.

There was a buffet with freshly baked bread, croissants, bagels, pancakes, scrambled eggs, veggies and fresh fruits. A simple but nice way to slow down together and start the day.

On top of that, everyone received a handwritten card from their manager with a few words of appreciation.

Thanks to the HR and Marketing team (Tessa, Jolanda, Eef and Babett) for organizing and preparing this breakfast!

In our TY office, we’ve created a series of fully illustrated posters for 14 meeting rooms, each named after scientists and artists who continue to inspire us.

The illustrations, including portraits and key elements they are known for, were created in-house by Each room reflects an innovative spirit and a way of thinking that still influences how we work today, with names such as Albert Einstein, Leonardo da Vinci, Marie Curie, Niels Bohr, Rosalind Franklin, Erwin Schrödinger, and Charles Darwin, among others. It was a big project, and it’s great to finally see everything come together on the walls.

A small detail in the office, but one that adds meaning to the spaces we use every day.

This Drone Race got competitive fast...
40 people, a tight course and high energy at TWICE Eindhoven. This was a fun way to spend after hours and we even took the win, both solo and the team win 🏆 Thanks for Rik van den Reijen and Sieuwe Elferink for organizing!
