CP-Carrillo to Acquire Arias Pistons Brand

Irvine, California - November 3, 2017 -- CP-Carrillo, Inc. and Arias Industries, Inc., a high performance pistons manufacturer, jointly announced today that CP-Carrillo will acquire the Arias Pistons brand name, trademark and relocate their piston production to CP-Carrillo’s main manufacturing facility in Irvine.

“Arias Pistons has endured the test of time, created a legendary history and we are beyond excited to continue this legacy”, said Barry Calvert, CEO CP-Carrillo. "Both companies strive to provide the best internal engine components to the customer; and combining the Arias product offering with our high-volume manufacturing capabilities is taking it to the next level."

In 1969, Nick Arias Jr. and Carmen Arias started Arias Pistons as a small family owned business in Gardena, California. “With minimal staff and equipment, our parents began a journey that produced leading-edge and highly innovative products and most importantly, new client relations that the family still cherish today. Faced with the current industry consolidation, we have found in CP-Carrillo a strong partner to continue our mission to bring the highest quality, experience, performance and innovation to our customers,” said Nick Arias III, son of Carmen and the late Nick Arias, Jr.

Did you know....
The dowel pin is the alternative option to ring dowels for locating the rod cap. It allows the bolts to be positioned closer to the big end bore for improved big end stability and allows for increased rotation clearance. However, this design is less robust in assembly and disassembly than the standard ring dowel.

WHAT IS THE G2X PRO?

The G2X Pro is an evolution of our professional series GPS based data acquisitions system, utilized for years in various forms of motorsports. Thousands of on-track laps have allowed us to create an economical data logger that is both rugged and dependable, in a variety of environments.

WHY USE GPS DATA?
The G2X Pro utilizes a small GPS antenna to obtain and create data that would typically require an assortment of vehicle mounted sensors and trackside mounted transmitters. The use of GPS signals, combined with the G2X Pro software provides:
• Lap Time
• Lap Number
• Predictive Lap Time
• Speed
• Segment Time
In addition, lateral and accel g forces are provided from internally mounted accelerometers, RPM and other inputs are available from externally connected sensors.

IS THE GPS DATA ACCURATE?
Using GPS signals for track mapping, lap / segment timing and speed, the G2X Pro and Datalink II software provide exceptionally accurate data, which has been tested and verified in years of on track usage.
Speed
In typical usage, the speed accuracy is approximately .10 MPH / .16 KMH.
Laptime
In multi-year testing of G2X Pro vs. trackside beacon laptimes, a variance of .05 has been noted. GPS based laptimes are dependant only upon vehicle location, and can not be affected by sunlight, signal blockage from other vehicles, power loss to the transmitter, or other problems associated with trackside transmitters.
Track mapping
G2X Pro GPS track maps are created from plotted vehicle location, thus eliminating positional errors that are inherent to inertia based systems. G2X Pro GPS track mapping is capable of easily producing accurate track maps from courses that combine highly bank and extremely flat areas (such as the road course at Daytona), along with standard closed course race tracks. In addition, the G2X Pro can create open course track maps, such as would be used in auto cross, hill climbing and other events where the start and finish are located at two different locations.
