Recently we had the opportunity to host a live training with Safety Tools Allmet AS Safety Tools for our partners at HITA in Brazil, not in person but through video call. Although we were thousands of kilometres apart, this session allowed us to connect in real-time to share knowledge and discuss the applications of our tools.

Together we were able to exchange expertise and identify new opportunities in the Brazilian market, strengthening our partnership and creating value for the future.
Collaborating internationally with these kinds of moments allows us to stay connected with our partners and build a foundation for innovation and long-term success.

We often talk about Pinovo as a certified solution for working on coatings containing Chromium-6. But what does that actually mean in practice?

SEEF Works validated the Pinovo Vacuum Blasting Technology under extreme test conditions, including epoxy coatings containing very high concentrations of Cr(VI). The results confirmed that the system generated only minimal Cr(VI) exposure in the breathing zone and remained well below legal exposure limits when used with the correct PPE.

In addition, wipe tests showed no detectable Cr(VI)-containing dust around the test setup, highlighting the effectiveness of the closed-loop vacuum blasting system.

For us, this approval is about more than certification alone. It means being able to offer our customers a safer, cleaner and more controlled solution for surface preparation and maintenance work in environments where hazardous substances are present.

The assessment also confirms the practical advantages of the Pinovo technology, including safe use in ATEX Zone 1 environments, minimal dust emission thanks to the closed-loop blasting system and the ability to continue work with limited downtime during operations. In addition, the compact and mobile setup makes the system highly suitable for difficult-to-access areas and high-quality surface preparation work.

Repair work in hazardous areas is often restricted due to the risk of ignition. Conventional grinding relies on high friction, which can generate heat and sparks.

Safety Tools Allmet AS' tools work differently. The carbide tool heads have specially designed teeth that remove material with each contact, operating at low rotational speeds. Instead of creating friction, the material is taken off in a controlled way.

This results in low heat generation and eliminates the formation of hot sparks, making it possible to carry out localized repair work in ATEX environments.

In practice, this allows maintenance to be performed where traditional methods introduce additional safety constraints.

On the FPSO Dhirubhai-1, extensive surface treatment was carried out in EX Zones 1 & 2, without hot work permits and without interrupting operations.

By using EX-certified cold work solutions from Allmet Safety Tools, the team was able to safely treat over 6,000 mยฒ across critical areas. They treated areas around gas compressor modules, in pump rooms, under-deck piping systems, at the helideck and on the turret structure . The project ran for two years without a single safety incident, while fully complying with offshore HSE standards.

This is a strong practical example of how the right tools make safe, continuous EX maintenance possible, even in the most demanding environments.
