Before the Green Eco Furnace, there was the HEAD Furnace.

Developed by Henk and Ad around the turn of the century, the HEAD Furnace became a proven charcoal production system and many of these units are still operating today.

Built for reliability and long service life, the HEAD Furnace laid the foundation for many of the technologies that were further developed into today's Green Eco Furnace.

Throughout the years, similar furnace concepts have appeared in different parts of the world. We are proud that the original HEAD Furnace was developed by Movi and continues to demonstrate its durability in daily operation.

Today, the Green Eco Furnace builds on that experience with improved process control, lower emissions, higher efficiency and greater operational flexibility.

Every Green Eco Furnace installation is designed around the customer's operation.

Depending on the project, production vessels can be handled safely and efficiently using an overhead crane, forklift, telescopic handler (telehandler) or other suitable lifting solutions.

There is no standard approach. We work together with every customer to determine the most practical, reliable and cost-effective handling method based on the available equipment, site layout and production capacity.

The result is a Green Eco Furnace installation that fits your operation—not the other way around.

Charcoal remains a primary energy source for millions of people worldwide. 🌍

In the Democratic Republic of Congo, and especially in large cities such as Kinshasa, charcoal is used every day for cooking, heating water and food preparation. For many families, alternatives such as gas or electricity are either too expensive or simply unavailable.

At the same time, charcoal production provides local employment and supports entire communities through biomass processing, transport and daily operations.

That is why improving charcoal production is so important. Through controlled pyrolysis systems, operator training and more efficient production methods, emissions and fuel losses can be reduced while improving product quality and working conditions.

The use of sustainably managed wood sources and plantations is also an important part of reducing uncontrolled deforestation and creating a more sustainable charcoal supply chain.

At Movi, we believe charcoal production can become cleaner, more efficient and more reliable — while continuing to support the communities that depend on it every day.

From coconut shells to charcoal. 🌴

Organic materials such as coconut shells, wood and other biomass residues can be converted into valuable charcoal products through controlled pyrolysis.

Depending on the process conditions, the charcoal can be suitable for different applications ranging from fuel use to industrial processing and biochar applications.

Controlled process conditions also help achieve a stable and consistent fixed carbon content, making the charcoal suitable for further processing such as activated carbon production.
