Milen Milkov, Production Director Gradus, and Gerrit-Jan Reurslag, Product Manager JBT Marel talk about the successful cut-up and deboning operations of Gradus in Bulgaria. "For 18 years, since this processing plant was built, we have been working with JBT Marel. We are satisfied with the equipment, because we are operating now at a high European level," says Milen Mirkov.

Initially focused on whole chickens, the company now produces a wide range of cut chicken products, including breast fillets, wings, legs and giblets, mostly under the Gradus brand. This is possible thanks to the installation of an ACM-NT cut-up system and two AMF-i breast cap filleting lines.

The partnership between the large, multi-site Xinsheng Group and JBT Marel continues to grow stronger. What started in 2011 with the installation of two 12,000 bph evisceration lines at the Boxing plant has evolved into a major automation success story.
Now, in 2026, this same plant is set for a major automation upgrade with four ACM‑NT cut‑up lines and no fewer than eight AMF‑i systems running in parallel. With this, the Boxing plant can produce an impressive volume of high‑quality deboned breast meat every day. JBT Marel was proud to be part of the 50th edition of Daags na de Tour in Boxmeer, the renowned cycling event held the day after the Tour de France finishes in Paris.
As one of the event's main sponsors, JBT Marel enjoyed strong visibility throughout the day, with flags, banners, displays, and trackside signage along the course. Beyond sponsoring the event, three teams of JBT Marel colleagues took part in the Company Cup race, proudly wearing our company colors. Our branded cargo bike and van with trailer joined the promotional parade, both highlighting career opportunities at JBT Marel. Thousands of visitors carried the cooler bags we handed out, creating even more visibility across the event.
The sponsorship even reached a national audience when Tour de France King of the Mountains and Boxmeer winner Richard Carapaz was interviewed for Dutch sports television in front of JBT Marel signage.
