Cruden BV The world’s leading designer, manufacturer and integrator of open architecture driving simulators

Cruden is the world’s leading designer, manufacturer and integrator of open architecture driving simulators for the automotive, motorsport and marine industries. We supply flexible, durable, high performing simulators and their modular components: hardware, software, vehicle models, content and screens and projectors. Our driver-in-the-loop (DIL) simulators and Panthera Software Suite are designed to slot into customers’ existing tool chains so their engineers can be up and running quickly with a future-proof system that does not tie them to any one supplier. Having recognised the potential of driving simulators to save time and money through DIL testing since the 1990s, we have installed over 100 simulators globally and gained a firm reputation as a trustworthy simulator expert.

Supporting the Forze Hydrogen Racing Team, originating from the TU Delft, Cruden will develop its hydrogen racing car with the supply of its Panthera Simulator Software as used in the professional motorsport and automotive sectors. The project aims to demonstrate the sustainability and performance potential of hydrogen to the automotive industry.

Driving simulation is helping the Forze Hydrogen Racing Team develop energy management strategies for its hydrogen race car competing in the 2024 Dutch Supercar Challenge. Cruden is supporting the Forze Hydrogen Racing Team, originating from the Technical University of Delft,...

How can data acquisition systems and biometrics tools add objective measurements to subjective feedback in the driving simulator – whether for setting up a racecar or conducting human factors research? Read our latest article where we explore the ways in which researchers and engineers can marry subjective impressions with recorded data in the driving simulator. Key to success is the integration of tools, such as those within the MATLAB Simulink environment, and the use of a well-correlated vehicle model.

Meet your objective: Data acquisition in the driving simulator In the final article in our tool integration series, we examine how data acquisition systems and biometrics tools add objective measurements to subjective feedback in the driving simulator. From racecar setup...

The driving simulator as a virtual OEM: read our latest article on how driver-in-the-loop (DIL) simulators are increasingly being used as a means of proving out designs and setups before physical cars are available to drive.

Driving simulators are extending the OEM’s traditional systems integration capabilities into the digital realm, combining tools and models from different suppliers to create virtual cars. Vehicle OEMs rely on component suppliers to contribute their expertise to new products, but the...

We're at Interservice / Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference in Orlando next week. For logistical reasons, we do not have a fast small craft simulator for virtual sea trials in Orlando, but we'll be at Umex Simtex in Abu Dhabi January 2024 if you want to experience our realistic simulation!

Please contact us if you want to discuss simulators - for land or sea - that emotionally engage with your trainees.

Ahead of this weekend's USA Grand Prix, engineers, racing and simulator drivers have put in hundreds of laps on this 3D model of the track. They'll continue their simulation work over the weekend, supporting the track-side engineers, optimising the set-up for the races.

The video features a track model that has been optimised for rendering at 120 frames per second and WQXGA resolution for each projection channel.

The Cruden Content Team has fine-tuned the model and Unity render engine to maximise the performance of the F1 simulators' GPUs. This ensures that drivers receive top-quality visual feedback during their simulation.

Our latest article discusses the techniques we use to achieve integrations with a driver-in-the-loop (DIL) simulator using OpenDRIVE layers. This is resulting in our clients running traffic simulations such as VIRES Simulationstechnologie GmbH VTD or dSPACE ASM and MathWorks RoadRunner for 3D scenery, through their Panthera software, ensuring the highest level of immersion for the driver in the simulator.

ASAM and other standards make it easier for Cruden and its customers to integrate engineering tools with a DIL simulator, as Edwin de Vries, chief technology officer, explains. Welcome to the latest article in our Tool Integration Series. In previous...

Ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix last month, we welcomed RTL Nieuws to our Amsterdam HQ to drive around the CM.com Circuit Zandvoort.

Cruden’s Niels Lodder and Dennis Marcus explained all to technical reporter, Harm Teunis.

We’re looking forward to being part of DSC 2023 Europe next week (Sept 6-8) in Antibes.

The Cruden team will demonstrate 0.9 mm pixel pitch LED wall technology from Barco, Panthera Unity rendering, and Panthera CoreBox - the new single point of access for tool integration, software upgrades, remote support and more, for use with ANY simulator.

On the afternoon of Thursday 7th, Dennis Marcus will present: “DIL system integration and how it can make or break the immersion in your simulator.“

Don’t miss it! See you there!
