It is observed that the rate of car theft world over have drastically increased. The following are tips that could help you counter this bad fellows.







1. Always ensure you double check that your car is securely locked after using a key or remote control.



2. Make sure you don't expose valuables in your car e.g. jewelries, purse, Ipad, Ipod, and other tabs and devices, cellphones, laptops, home keys and other items that could be attractive to the would be criminal



3. Don't ever leave your car running when you are not there



4. Always avoid busy and traffic prone roads when necessary.



5. If you notice that you are been followed, please drive straight to a police station.



6. Always use your car mirrors to observe the surrounding of your car.



7. Don't give lift to people you don't know, if you have to, please ensure that you are in a secured environment.



8. Always ensure you don't have your original vehicle documents with you in your car. You are only expected to have your original drivers license. All other documents should be photocopy.



9. Don't stop for anybody who deliberately hit your car from behind, he may just be a car snatcher



10. Ensure you park your car in place that has proper lighting.







11. Install a car tracking device or fuel cut system in your car.



12. If you are visiting an area that is prone to car theft, it is advisable to go by public transport and ensure that you dress modestly and for speed.



13. Always ensure that the spare key/remote control of your car is securely kept.



14. Always ensure that the glasses of your car is properly wind up.



15. The power of observation cannot be over emphasized, always endeavor to observe your environment before entering or alighting from your car.
