The Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria APWEN was formed by a handful of women engineers led by Engr. Maduka in 1982, and was formally inaugurated in 1983. It was originally meant to be a pressure group since most men hiring engineers then would rather have women in the kitchen and not on construction sites nor behind the desk carrying out engineering designs.APWENLagos is the L

Intellectual fireworks at the 2026 Who Wants to Be an Engineer Quiz Competition! 🌟

Despite the heavy rains, 29 outstanding students from 14 schools across Lagos State gathered at the University of Lagos for this inspiring APWEN Lagos Zone initiative, held in honor of our late 16th President, Engr. Funmilola Ojelade, FNSE.

Beyond the competition, participants enjoyed career talks, mentorship, and encouragement to pursue excellence in STEM and engineering.
