Today, Engr. Dr. Ekerete Usak, FNSE, Chairman of NSE Eket branch, and other senior engineers welcomed Engr. Margaret Aina Oguntala FNSE, the NSE president, and her team.

They visited Engr. Uwem Okoko, FNSE, MD/CEO of Hensek Integrated Services Limited in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

They also toured Hensek’s project site and saw their amazing work.

NSE Eket Branch Engineering Week 2023: A Remarkable Success

The NSE Eket Branch Engineering Week 2023 was a resounding success, showcasing the achievements and potential of engineers in Akwa Ibom State. The event, which ran from November 6 to November 10, 2023, had the theme "Akwa Ibom Blue Economy and ARISE Agenda: Engineering Perspectives."

The event brought together engineers, stakeholders, and partners from various sectors to discuss and explore the opportunities and challenges of the blue economy and the ARISE Agenda. The event kicked off with a career and counseling visit to Union Technical College (Ikpa), Esit Eket, Animek Schools (Eket), the Standard Institute of Technology (SIT), Uyo, and other technical and educational schools within and outside of Eket.

The highlight of the event was the conference, which took place on November 10, 2023, at the Villa Marina Hotel in Eket. The conference featured keynotes, goodwill messages, public lectures, talk shows, and awards.

The NSE President, Engr. Tasiu Saad Gidari-Wudil FNSE, who was represented by Engr. Nsikak Affiah, delivered the keynote address and commended the NSE Eket Branch for their contributions to the engineering profession and society.

The NSE Eket Branch Chairman, Engr. Dr. Ekerrete Usak FNSE, gave the welcome address and described the ARISE Agenda as a visionary initiative aimed at harnessing the full potential of Akwa Ibom State.

The Central Planning Committee Chairman, Engr. Nsikak Etim Udoh, MNSE, gave the vote of thanks and appreciated the efforts of the committee members and the sponsors.

The guest lecturer, Engr. Dr. Godwin Ekong, MNSE, FNiMechE, delivered an insightful presentation on "Akwa Ibom Blue Economy and ARISE Agenda: Engineering Perspective.

The Talk Show Moderator, Mr. Akwaowo Mbo, led a panel discussion on the engineering perspectives of the ARISE Agenda. The panelists included representatives from the different schools that made up the Young Engineering Forum of Nigeria, Eket Branch.

The event was a success, thanks to the hard work and dedication of the NSE Eket Branch, the Central Planning Committee, the sponsors, and the partners.

The event also received positive feedback and commendation from the participants, the speakers, and the media. The event was a testament to the NSE's vision of advancing the engineering profession and society.

The Nigerian Institute of Civil Engineers Students Associates Akwa Ibom State University Chapter today celebrated the chairman of the Nigerian Society of Engineers Eket Branch, Engr. Dr. Ekerette Usak, on the occasion of his birthday.

Engr. Dr. Usak, who is also the keynote speaker at the students' annual conference, expressed appreciation for the surprise celebration and promised continuous engagement with the student community for professional growth.

STEM Education and Career Exploration: Nigerian Society of Engineers Inspires QIC Senior Science School Ndon Eyo Students 📢

The Career and Counseling team, led by Engr. Nsikak Udoh, MNSE, visited QIC Senior Science School Ndon Eyo in Onna LGA as part of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) Eket branch's Engineering Week activities. Vice Principal Elder Nelson Ekanem greeted them warmly and expressed his appreciation for their commitment to engaging with students.

The team passionately delved into the world of STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), demystifying the fascinating engineering field and highlighting the myriad career opportunities it presents. The students were enthralled by the interactive sessions and eager to absorb the knowledge shared.

To further stimulate their minds and encourage STEM engagement, the team organized an engaging quiz, which resulted in three outstanding winners, among whom were the senior prefect girls, who demonstrated exceptional knowledge and enthusiasm for STEM subjects.

The NSE's mission is to promote STEM education and inspire future generations of engineers.

NSE Eket Branch kicked off its engineering week with a Career and Counseling visit to UNION Technical College Ikpa-Esit Eket.

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) kicked off its engineering week on November 6, 2023, with a career counseling visit to Union Technical College Ikpa-Esit Eket. The entourage, led by Engr. Dr. Paul Okon, MNSE, included Engr. Emmanuel Akpekong Sam, MNSE, Engr. Dan Dan-Abia, Engr. Nwanne Ben Nwankwo, MNSE, Mr. Idongesit Oduok, and Master Abasi-ifreke Esu.

The engineers shared their experiences and advice with the students, encouraging them to pursue their passion for engineering with excellence and determination. The Principal, Mrs. Joyce Udoekpo, expressed her appreciation for the visit and requested a repeat in the future to promote the culture of passion, excellence, and the pursuit of set goals.

The Vice Principal, Mr. Okon Abakedi, thanked the engineers for their insights and solutions to the students' questions. The highlight of the visit was a pop quiz won by Master John Warrie and Miss Chizoba Achalu. The 3-hour-long session concluded with a photo session.

The NSE career counseling visit was a valuable experience for both the engineers and the students. The engineers were able to share their knowledge and passion for engineering with the next generation of engineers, while the students gained valuable insights and advice from experienced professionals.

The visit also helped to promote the culture of engineering in Nigeria
