* They use transformer for voltage/current synchronization i.e energy conversion.
*They emits more heat during energy conversion so some energy is lost in the process.
*Most transformer based systems don't have charge controller incorporated in it except few.
*They takes more space. it's big and you still need to use a separate charge controller in some cases.
* They are rugged and energy efficient, they can take heavy inductive loads .
* They can handle surges or sudden high voltages.
