DAY 5 — TRUST BRINGS PEOPLE TOGETHER

Day 5 of our food-giving journey brought me another meaningful day — not only because of the food we shared, but because of the people who walked through our doors.

Today, Contractor Mus introduced a customer from Puchong who is continuing the renovation of her home after her previous contractor was unable to complete the work. Mus recommended Paint House Hardware Trading because he believed we could provide the materials she needed under one roof.

During our conversation, she told me something simple that made me very happy:

“Your place is different from other hardware premises.”

To me, those words are more valuable than any advertisement.

I had known Mus for some time through phone conversations, but I did not recognise him when I first joined them today. Only after talking did he tell me who he was! 😊 Sometimes we know a person through business for years before finally having the opportunity to stand together face to face.

I was also very happy to meet Hj Ahmad, an old friend whom I had not seen for a long time. He is now retired after many years of serving the Muslim community in matters relating to marriage. Whenever he visited, he would ask my younger brother Soon Long, “Where is Richard? How is he?”

Today, when he finally saw me, he happily said that he was fortunate to meet me again and see me standing well. That moment touched me.

The others in these photographs are familiar friends who have supported us regularly and continued ordering their building materials from us.

This is what 29 years in business has taught me:

A customer may first come because of a product.
They return because of service.
They recommend another person because of TRUST.
And after enough years, many of them are no longer customers — they become FRIENDS.

Business is not only about how much we sell today. It is about how many relationships we are still able to treasure tomorrow.

Day 5 reminds me again:

Serve with sincerity.
Build with trust.
Treat people with kindness.
And let time prove the value of the relationship.

TWO GOLD PLATES — BUT THE REAL REWARD IS BELIEF.

Today I am very happy to fulfil another promise by presenting two gold plates to a contractor who achieved his target in only four months.

To me, the meaning of this reward is never simply about the monetary value of the gold.

It represents something much more important:

What seems impossible can become possible when we have the courage to begin, the aggressiveness to execute, a proper plan to follow, and the discipline to monitor our time and progress.

A target will remain only a target if we keep looking at it and saying, “Impossible.”

But once we believe, plan properly and take action every day, step by step, results will begin to appear.

Four months ago, this was only a challenge.
Today, he is holding the achievement in his own hands.

That is exactly why I created this reward programme. I want our contractors and friends to understand that success is not waiting for luck. Success comes when courage meets action, planning meets discipline, and persistence continues until the target is achieved.

The gold will always have a price.

But the confidence of knowing “I DID IT” is priceless.

Congratulations on an excellent achievement. May these two gold plates always remind you: Never say impossible before you have given your very best to make it possible.

BEHIND EVERY DELIVERY IS A TEAM

Every morning begins with a new schedule and a new responsibility.

As a building materials supplier, our work is much more than simply loading goods onto a lorry. Every delivery must be handled bill by bill, item by item and destination by destination. From timber, boards, tiles, steel sections, paint and many other building materials, everything must be checked, arranged and loaded properly before leaving our premises.

Within only three to four hours, around twenty lorries can be fully prepared and dispatched one after another.

To me, this is tremendous teamwork.

It is only possible because our entire workforce moves together—sales, administration, store, loading team, forklift operators, drivers and everyone behind the operation. Every person has a responsibility, and every responsibility connects to the next.

A strong company is not built by one strong person.

A strong company is built when many people understand their roles, trust one another and work towards the same destination.

When I look at these photographs, I do not only see building materials or lorries going out for delivery. I see years of experience being passed down, teamwork becoming stronger, and people who are capable of standing confidently on their own.

This is one of my greatest satisfactions.

I admire my teammates.
I appreciate their hard work.
And I am truly proud of the strong workforce we have built together.

Goods build houses and buildings.
But people, trust and teamwork build a company.

Thank you, my teammates. Every successful delivery carries a little part of everyone’s effort.

Achievement Deserves Recognition-Days 4

Today, I am very happy to reward our contractor, Fendi, with a cheque for his excellent performance.

In business, I believe good results should never be taken for granted. Behind every achievement are persistence, responsibility, trust and continuous effort. When someone performs well, appreciation should not remain only in our words—we should let them feel that their contribution is truly valued.

Tomorrow morning, another proud moment will follow. Our contractor Hairul will receive two gold plates for achieving his target.

These rewards are not simply about money or gold. They represent a promise between Paint House and the people who grow together with us:

You give your sincerity and effort; we remember your contribution.
You achieve with us; we celebrate with you.
When the company grows, we want the people beside us to grow too.

Congratulations to Fendi, and tomorrow we celebrate Hairul. May every achievement encourage another person to believe that persistence will eventually be rewarded.

Success becomes more meaningful when it is shared.

A PRODUCT IS ONLY THE BEGINNING — TRUST MAKES IT LAST

A product can be good, famous and well-known. But a brand alone cannot create long-lasting business.

Consistency and persistence come from people.

Customers continue to believe in us because of the trust we build, the culture we practise, the way we approach and serve them, the kindness we give, and the friendship we develop through the years.

Whether it is paint, hardware, tools, cement, tiles or building materials, the product may change and the brand may change — but sincerity must never change.

We don’t only want customers to remember what they bought from us. We want them to remember how we treated them.

When we serve with sincerity, passion and responsibility, a transaction becomes trust.
Trust becomes friendship.
Friendship becomes loyalty.
And loyalty becomes a relationship that can continue from one generation to another.

Brands create products.
People create trust.
Culture creates consistency.
Sincerity creates lasting relationships.

That is the true value behind every product we deliver.

DAY 3 — FOOD SHARED, HEARTS UNITED ❤️🇲🇾

A table has no status.

When we sit together and share a simple meal, it does not matter who is a businessman, worker, customer, supplier, friend or neighbour. At that moment, we are simply human beings enjoying food, conversation and one another’s company.

Today, on Day 3 of our food-giving journey, I walked from table to table and saw something more valuable than the food itself — smiles, friendship, respect and human connection.

Roti Bom may fill the stomach for a few hours, but sincerity and kindness can remain in a person’s heart much longer.

My greatest happiness is not how much we give, but seeing people from different walks of life sitting under the same roof, eating together and feeling welcome.

We may come from different backgrounds, but kindness gives us one common language.

Thank you to our sponsors, teammates, friends, customers and community for making every morning meaningful.

Give with sincerity.
Serve with humility.
Live with gratitude.
And leave every place a little happier than we found it. We share food with our community, and we share success with our teammates. When a target is achieved, effort deserves recognition and achievement deserves reward. Happiness becomes greater when the fruits of success are shared.”

That is very much the Paint House spirit, giving outside, rewarding inside, and growing together.

My Wish Is Simple — To See People Happy Together ❤️🇲🇾Day 2

Today, standing among our community and watching the elderly, women, children, neighbours, friends and customers enjoying the food together, I quietly felt something very meaningful:

My wish is happening in front of my eyes.

Every day we prepare 500 Roti Bom, 500 Apam Balik and 120 eggs. Within four to five hours, everything is shared and enjoyed.

But to me, these are not merely numbers.

Every piece of food carries a little goodwill.
Every table creates a little conversation.
Every smile brings people a little closer.

I have always believed that when we receive something good from the community, we should find a way to return something good to the community.

I don’t measure this event by how much we spend or how much food we distribute. I measure it by the happiness I can see on people’s faces.

I am also deeply grateful to our suppliers and sponsors who came personally to visit us. Your contribution is not simply a sponsorship displayed on our banner. Look around—you can see what your generosity has become: food being shared, people gathering, friendships growing and happiness spreading.

Next week, as we move closer to Malaysia’s Independence Day, we will prepare even more varieties for everyone to enjoy.

Malaysia is our shared home. We may come from different families, generations, cultures and backgrounds, but around a simple table, we can eat together, smile together and care for one another.

If these two weeks leave behind one message, I hope it will be this:

Food fills the stomach for a few hours.
Kindness can remain in the heart for many years.

And perhaps someone who receives today will become someone who gives tomorrow.

That is my purpose.
That is my happiness.
And that is the community I hope we continue building together. ❤️🤝🇲🇾

Giving is not about how much we have.

❤️ Sharing Food, Sharing Happiness, Sharing Our Community 🇲🇾

A meaningful day does not always need something extraordinary. Sometimes, a simple meal, a friendly smile and sitting together around the same table are enough to bring people closer.

Today, our Roti Bom Food Giving Festival continues with many familiar and new faces joining us. Seeing people from different backgrounds sitting together, enjoying the food, talking and laughing is the greatest reward for all the effort behind this event.

At the same time, some teachers paid us a visit seeking support for their school activities. Education belongs to our next generation, and whenever I am able to contribute, I will always try my best. We may not be able to fulfil every need, but whatever is within our ability, we give sincerely from the heart.

My greatest collection was never the things I owned. It was the people I met along the way. Every photograph preserved a friendship, a moment of trust, and a small piece of my life. I no longer need to hold every task in my hands; my responsibility now is to help the people holding those tasks keep their hearts and direction on the right path. My task is no longer to make everyone follow my footsteps. My task is to make sure that when they walk with their own footsteps, their direction remains right. The honour was received by one person, but the journey toward it was walked by many. Business gives us the ability to earn.
Gratitude teaches us to share.
Merdeka reminds us that whatever our background, we belong to one Malaysia. 🇲🇾
