TWI South East Asia (SEA) has its business premises located in Shah Alam. this center acts as a hub for training and certification in the fields of non-destructive testing (NDT), welding inspection, plant inspection, welding procedures, occupational health and safety and underwater inspection and NDT. It also provides a new home for TWI Services, delivering structural integrity support services in
the region. The elegant modern three-storey building sits on half an acre of prime real estate land. The building has a built-up area of 6200 square meters, and has been designed to meet all quality and health and safety requirements for the 8000 trainees who are expected to come to TWI to get their training and certifications each year. Equipped with the latest technology, the new building features a 700m3 dive tank with a depth of seven meters, which caters for the needs of underwater inspectors and welders. Other essentials include eight spacious classrooms, an NDT laboratory, three examination rooms and an in-house radiographic testing facility. TWI SEA is in the process of building a 30-bay welding workshop. Each welding bay will be fitted with Lincoln’s latest multi-process welding machine. There will also be a destructive testing facility in the new centre, which will enable TWI to carry out both non-destructive and destructive tests in-house. Since the formation of TWI SEA in August 1992, the business has grown tremendously to become the well-renowned and reputable training and certification centre that it is today. In addition to Malaysia, courses are regularly scheduled in Brunei, China, Indonesia, Myanmar, The Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam.
